American Coliseum

Description

One can feel awe and glory of the years past while standing by this magnificent memorial of great American Industrial Revolution. The former Michigan Central Station in Detroit, was once the tallest rail station in the world. Now it stands abandoned and crumbling, no trains arriving, no passengers, only the barber wire protects this beautiful building from invasions of homeless people, graffiti artists and wandering photographers. Somehow it reminded me the Coliseum. Will it be the symbol of another fallen great empire? Or maybe America is not doomed after all? I hope not, and I also hope that the city of Detroit will find a way to restore this architecture masterpiece to its former glory.
